With the school year ending, parents and guardians are already looking for alternatives to having kids hanging out around the house all day. A new business in Meadow Lakes is hoping to provide just such an activity.
Stepping Stones Inflatables kicked off its business this past Saturday at the Meadow Lakes City Center with massive inflatables for the kids, music, and food trucks for all to enjoy.
Owner Samantha Lavigne was eager to offer something in the neighborhood for kids.
“There’s really not much out here at this end of the Borough for kids, and this was just a wonderful opportunity to give something back,” she said.
There is an assortment of bouncy houses and castles available for renting, including a bouncy castle, sports arena, a 40 foot obstacle course, and a fun house that has a basketball hoop inside and out! And there is a bouncy slide for the grown-ups who also feel like getting a bounce too!
Lavigne says every precaution is taken to ensure safety and cleanliness, noting that each inflatable is cleaned and sanitized between uses.
“We also provide delivery, set-up, and proper takedowns,” she added.
And Stepping Stones Inflatables isn’t limited to colorful bouncy houses. They also offer cotton candy and popcorn machines, generators, and coolers for rent.
During the kickoff event on Saturday, children had the chance to play and jump on all of the inflatables, and while it’s too soon to know which was the most popular, it was clear that parents and kids alike were enjoying the fun!
“It’s was great to have food for the grown-ups and the inflatables for the kids. This was a good way for them to get out and spend some energy,” said parent Ricki Lane who had children ages 2 to 11 at the event.
Among the food trucks that participated was the popular Dippin’ Dots, Grandma Wei’s Dumplings, and Bodacious Burritos, to name a few.
Lavigne said she was thrilled with the turnout on Saturday, and noted while some given advanced notice of attending, many other parents simply stopped when they saw the colorful inflatables from the highway or others who’d come to pick up mail and went home to gather the kids to jump around for a while.
