Dear Editor:
In the midst of a never ending winter, endless state budget doom and gloom and Russian investigations we were invited to a picnic, and what a picnic it was! The K-1 students at Shaw Elementary in Wasilla presented the musical performance of "Bugz Life".
The students were delightful as they represented a wide variety of bugs on their way to a picnic. The costumes and scenery, produced by parents and teachers, were a beautiful background for the production. Marching army ants, dancing ladybugs, chirping crickets, glowing fireflies, beautiful butterflies, buzzing bees and wasps and even a lowly maggot and a stinkbug gave outstanding performances. Special thanks to the music teacher, Mrs. Kai West, whose hard work and dedication made this a very special event for students and audience. It lifted our spirits and spread sunshine and smiles all around.
