Enroute to participate in Memorial Day activities on Monday I could not help but to notice the lack of American flags in ALL of Wasilla, especially the business area. I counted 13 total flags, with 6 on 2 businesses. How sad!
Perhaps the business owners should reflect on the fact that there are more than 9500 Veterans in the Mat-Su and how many active military I do not know.
Memorial Day is to show respect for all those who have died while serving our country. Additionally, to demonstrate that we appreciate ALL those that have served our country.
As a community we can do better.
