Letter: Reader says ski resort would help community

Ski resort would encourage tourism

To the editor,

Hi my name is Kayden Payne, I am 12 years old and I live in Palmer. I have lived in the Valley for my whole life. I have heard from a bird on the street that they are building a ski resort in Hatcher Pass.

I think that this is a great idea because it will become an economic engine for this valley. The reason that I believe that it will bring economic growth is because a lot of stuff goes into building a ski resort, like restaurants, hotels, the resort and many other things that will create wealth for the community. Another good thing about building a ski resort is that it will create a healthy outlet for everybody, but especially teens. Instead of getting into trouble they will be out skiing. My last reason of why we should build a ski resort is that it will encourage tourism. If we build a ski resort near Palmer then people will want to come to Palmer to ski and hangout more.

Sincerely, your favorite citizen
