LETTER: Supporting Head Start is important

To the editor:

As a proud mom and Head Start parent, I know firsthand the powerful impact Head Start has not only on the millions of vulnerable children enrolled in Head Start programs, but also their families. My own son has significantly improved both academically and socially since joining the Meadow Lakes CCS community, and I have no doubt that he is well prepared for Kindergarten and beyond.

It is because of people like Congressman Don Young that my son and other children have access to the opportunities that Head Start provides. I would like to thank Congressman Young for believing in the value of Head Start and for signing onto the Jenkins Clark letter to support Head Start funding. Head Start provides crucial programs to those most in need, and Congressman Young’s support has allowed Head Start to continue doing what it does best: put our most vulnerable children and families on a trajectory of success!
