Wasilla Area Seniors, Inc. (WASI) would like to thank Mat-Su Health Foundation (MSHF) for generously contributing $60,000 for the purchase of a brand new 14-passenger transportation van, serving the aging and elderly in the Mat-Su Valley. MSHF will be present June 9th at 12:15 PMduring our Miles for Meals on Wheels Fun Run to show the community the van we have purchased and be thanked for their contribution.
Their contribution was also used as leverage in applying for and ultimately receiving funding from MEA Charitable Foundation (Project Roundup) in the amount of $4,400 to pay for the $2,300 remaining cost of the vehicle and to purchase studded tires and rims. Tote Maritime was in on the effort as well, shipping the van here from Seattle free of charge!
We are so grateful for our relationship with all the wonderful folks over at MSHF, and for their whole-hearted support of the seniors we care about. From all of us here at Wasilla Area Seniors, THANK YOU!
