Disappointed with the lack of patriotic music during the July 4 parade
To the editor:
As a United States Marine Corps Veteran, I found it extremely disappointing that there was not one band or patriotic music played throughout the long procession of advertisements and political campaigning at the Wasilla 4th of July parade. Music motivates, stimulates and inspires people. That is certainly a good beginning to help our country bound. Where were the “bandies” and instruments? The songs of patriotism? No parade is even a parade (in my opinion) without music!
PS: I did wait until the end of the procession, desperately wanting all American sounds. Unfortunately to no avail! Come on Wasilla, dear dear Mayor, next year, please have your parade promote good, good, good, good vibrations!”
