Letter writer’s words not his own

To the editor:

Mr. DeHart is angry U.S. Sen. Begich did not respond to his e-mail. Perhaps Sen. Begich realized that he had already heard the argument presented by Mr. DeHart, word-for-word, during the Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearings for Judge Sonia Sotomayor. On July 16, Sandra Froman, past president of the NRA, testified in opposition to Sotomayor. Mr. DeHart chose to lift exact sentences from this testimony and claim them as his own. As a retired teacher and librarian, I would suggest that the next time Mr. Dehart expects an acknowledgment of his correspondence he should write it in his own words or at the very least, cite his sources.
