Thoughts on the warTo the editor:

The saying “the first casualty of war is truth” is still accurate.

I think it’s disgusting that Big media outlets and the federal government portray the Ukrainian War as a kind of sporting contest invoking the prejudices typical of sports broadcasting.

War-making is the mother of atrocities from all sides.

Our military is not combat-ready---especially for incompetently directed war by functionally illiterate officials.

Demonization of others---implying that conflict resolution is impossible---is propaganda at its most evil. That’s what the NAZIs did against the Jews.

Even with violent conflict, the first principle of conflict resolution is that there are two sides to the story. It’s refusals to openly air and confront those sides that brand those refusing as deserving universal condemnation as warmongers.

In today’s America, it’s disinformation if it isn’t what the government and Big Media tells you to believe.

War---which conducts itself behind a screen of lies and half-truths---is forever insane. It’s monstrous that governments abuse the honor and willingness of the military to carry out their insanities.
