Retired school principal supports Beck for mayorTo the editor:

I am writing in support of Matthew Beck for MatSu Borough Mayor. I have known the Beck family over the last 20 years. Their three children attended the school where I was principal. He and Teresa were involved and supportive parents at school, in youth athletics, and church activities as the girls grew up. Matthew’s many years of youth ministry, volunteerism, and Assembly work demonstrate his commitment to our valley. His service has been focused on making the valley a better place for raising a family, living, and doing business.

During his tenure on the MatSu Assembly he spent countless hours listening to and learning from residents about their biggest concerns. His approach has always been to listen respectfully to different perspectives, research, and then proceed to a vote fully aware of the impact of decisions.

Matthew is not interested in partisan politics driving his decisions. He knows there is important work to be done. Let’s elect a mayor who knows the valley, loves the valley, and can move us forward to being a stronger, healthier, more prosperous place to live and work. Matthew Beck has earned my vote!

I have known Matthew Beck for many years. I first met Matthew when he was a youth director. I have always found Matthew to be a good organizer, with innovative ideas and enthusiasm. He has good family values, a strong faith, and the kind of honesty and integrity that would be a great asset in leading our Borough as Mayor.

Several years ago, an important issue in my community was coming before the Assembly. Time was short and I wanted to express my concerns. I made some calls, one of which was to then District 2 Assembly Member Matthew Beck, even though I lived in District 7 and he wasn’t “my” Assembly person. Nonetheless, he took the time to listen carefully and discuss constructively, and invited me to call again if I needed to. That’s what elected officials should do, but often do not. I was impressed. Matthew Beck will be a great Mayor.

I am writing this in support of Matthew Beck for Borough Mayor. I have known Matthew for over 15 years and as we attend the same church, I have gotten to know him very well. Matthew is the type of person whom you can approach any time and he always has time for you. We have been on committees together and I have seen him in leadership roles. Matthew is an organizer who is not afraid to do his part in order to help out. Matthew is an honest person with integrity, and I know he will do his best for the people in the MatSu Borough. My husband, Art, and I are proud to support Matthew Beck for our next Borough Mayor. He is the right person for the job.

Matthew Beck is an honest and well organized leader and a wonderful candidate for the MatSu Borough Mayor. Beck has been a mentor, role model, and support of mine as I have grown up through life. From soccer coach, to youth leader, to employer and friend, Matthew has always been someone I can count on and talk to if ever in need. Matthew is exactly what the borough needs. He is someone you can always rely on. Matthew spends countless hours on the things he is passionate about, so without a doubt in my mind, I know that he will give his all as Mayor for our borough. Matthew approaches every situation with a loving heart that allows for every decision to be made ethically, with each individual’s dignity in mind. Beck will not only listen to the people of the borough, but he will go to every length to make it the best place it can be. Thank you Matthew for always trying to make the world a better place.
