Time for Hydrogen Commuter Train

To the editor:

We need hydrogen fuel-cell commuter train service from Seward to Girdwood to Anchorage to Palmer and Wasilla. Constantly closing, repairing, and enlarging our road system every summer is too expensive, inefficient, frustrating, and hazardous, and driving in winter can be perilous and not dependable.

A first hydrogen-powered trainset for U. S. A. has been delivered to San Bernardino County Transportation Authority by manufacturer, Stadler, which announced up to 29 more orders for Amtrak California service at https://www.trains.com/trn/news-reviews/news-wire/stadler-unveils-first-hydrogen-train-for-u-s-announces-order-for-up-to-29-more/ .

Far more appealing to tourists than diesel-burning trains, such commuter trains would remove, potentially, tens of thousands of vehicles and their polluting emissions, everyday, from our poor roads. Hydrogen fuel-cell commuter light-rail service would stimulate economic development of our state, and it may breathe new life into the proposed Alaska to Alberta rail proposal. Publicity from opening and marketing such a modern, clean commuter rail service would also encourage more people to ride Alaska Railroad's regular service from Anchorage to Talkeetna, Denali & Fairbanks. The future of a pair of U.S. cities

To the editor:

Just like Anchorage, Chicago voted in progressive Socialists. Wonder how long it will be that Anchorage is as unsafe as Chicago, filled with homeless, increasing crime/lawlessness, not to mention taxation that is off the charts? Now that you have affirmed a Socialist City, any bets on when Constants and others push for Defunding Police? We know they have already raised taxes and will push for more, Any bets on Anchorage fully becoming a Sanctuary City and of cours voting of illegals? We know they are for unfettered abortions and fully support the child sexualizing of the children. Hmmm, Mayor Johnson's of Chicago plans? Yep! You wanted it, now you got it!

As bad as it has gotten in both cities, the progressive citizens of both showed they like living in a Socialist City, run by dictator's who routinely trample on the Bill of Rights and both the Alaska and US Constitutions. Well, folks of both cities, enjoy being victims of socialism! Parents, you got what you wanted, teachers whom will raise your kids for you to be good little Socialists. Of course, don't be surprised when the WOKE police (KGB, Stasi, East Germany, etc.) come to your door because your child told their teacher that you didn't call that child by their preferred pronoun, or don't support a Socialist view. Be prepared for the "reeducation camps", while the "state" takes your kids into more intense "reeducation camps" to ensure nothing you taught them takes hold. Anchorage folks, I fully expect a Soros backed DA in your city that will toss you in jail if you have to defend yourself while letting criminals out with no repercussions!

OBTW, we in the Valley? We don't want you here when you can't take it anymore! You did that to yourself. So stay in your pig sty. We don't want the stink here!
