To the editor:
I was raised in Alaska. If a bear, wolf or a neighbor’s dog was to try to do harm to our critters there would be action taken. Possibly death.
You talk about killing predators, well the way I see it, it is no different than growing a head of lettuce. You kill all of its predators, weeds and nurture it and then kill it. Next time you behead a lettuce plant look at the life’s blood running out. Only it is white not red. That poor head of lettuce can not run or hide nor can the predators the weeds that we constantly kill. At least the animals have a chance to run and hide.
Just go ahead and kill! Kill! Those poor defenseless plants, cabbage, lettuce, dandelions, chickweed and potatoes have absolutely no chance to survive.
Why don’t you people against predator control, spend time and money to help with the problem, maybe use a live trap, move them to your part of this world, fence them in and feed and care for them so I will not have to deal with them, or maybe even kill them. Cows, chickens, bears, pigs, wolves, moose, caribou, deer, coyotes. If you want view wildlife in the wild go visit some of the park lands, put in some roads, trails and utilize your parks.
The way I see it plants and animals are all God’s creations.
Why are you so set on no predator control for animals, but its all right to do predator control for plants.
