On Dec. 30, I read a disturbing piece in the paper about a lien to stop the building of a new shelter for sick and homeless animals. David Straub, you are very greedy and selfish. You call yourself a dog lover; you had 28 dogs taken away from you. Now you are being cruel to all the animals that need the new shelter.
You should thank the good Lord that you got to keep some of your dogs.
It would do my heart good to see all the animal lovers and mushers turn their backs on you. What the Borough should do is file a counter claim against you for cruelty to the sick, homeless animals that need the new shelter.
L. Roy Bradshaw,
Palmer
Editor’s note: Since that story was first published, David Straub has lifted the $1.5 million lien he had placed on property the Borough had planned to use for its animal shelter expansion and a new recycling center.
