WASILLA - A LifeGuard helicopter was dispatched Wednesday afternoon to medevac a 25-year-old Wasilla man who was reportedly crushed between two trucks, one of them laden with drywall, behind a business located off the Palmer-Wasilla HIghway.
The truck with the drywall inside apparently popped out of gear and rolled down a slight incline, pinning Tim Lindsey against another truck. Palmer Ambulance transported Lindsey from the back lot of the business, Wesgro Paint and Drywall, to Valley Baptist Christian School, where the helicopter would be able to land in a nearby parking lot.
The helicopter was dispatched at about 3:45 p.m., and took Lindsey to Providence Alaska Medical Center.
Lindsey is an employee of Wesgro and is expected to survive his injuries, which included an open fracture of his right thigh, cuts to the head and a crushed right arm and hand.
Responding units were the Central Mat-Su Fire Department's rescue truck, three local fire chiefs, Palmer Ambulance and Central Mat-Su Ambulance.
