Lily Grace Empie
It is with great gladness and sadness that we announce Lily Grace Empie’s promotion to Heaven. Lily left earth the evening of April 2, 2021, at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, AK.
Lily was born in the Ukraine on August 5, 1938. She lived an amazing life. As a young child during WWII, she and her family were sent to a labor camp in Germany. They only survived the ordeal through the grace of God. After the family was freed from the labor camp, Lily and her family migrated to America, and Lily immersed herself in the culture and language. Lily went to college and learned accounting. She lived in California and eventually made her way to Alaska where she resided until her death.
Lily is survived by her sister Rose Wirolubovich of Castro Valley, CA, and daughter Larena Hubble Ard of Maricopa, AZ. She is also survived by countless friends and children who affectionately knew her as “Grandma Lily.”
A memorial service was held at Faith Bible Fellowship in Big Lake, AK, on April 8, 2021, and was attended by so many people who adored and loved Lily. She lived her life for Jesus Christ and was telling people of the good news of salvation up until she went into hospice care.
Lily will be missed, and it is comforting to know she resides with Jesus now.
