Lincoln had it right

It seems like Abraham Lincoln must have been looking into the future. We seem to be experiencing and doing exactly what he said we shouldn’t do.

He said:

“You cannot help men permanently by doing more for them than they can do for themselves.

You cannot build character and courage by taking away man’s initiative and independence.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

You cannot prosper by discouraging thrift.

You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.”
