Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Linda M. Fletcher, age 55, of Crooked Road, Butler, died Jan. 3, 2003, at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. She was born August 26, 1947, in Warfield, Ky., the daughter of Truman and Helen (Stone) Collier and had been a resident of Columbus and Alaska for many years before recently returning to Ohio.
In Alaska she was active in her church, the Wasilla Assembly of God, and served the church as secretary and as a counselor. Mrs. Fletcher served as area president of the regional board of "Alaska Womens Aglow."
She is survived by her husband Gordon Fletcher whom she married March 23, 1968; her daughter Lisa (Johnathan) Hall of Green Springs, Mont.; a son Gordon (Simone) Fletcher Jr. of Eagle River; five grandchildren; her father of Columbus, two sisters, Louise Harmon of Butler and Rhonda (Saykahm) Louanglath of Columbus; and two brothers, Richard (Debra) Collier of Canal Winchester and Leroy Collier of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her mother and brother Truman Collier Jr.
The family will observe private services. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home assisted with arrangements. A memorial fund is being established to benefit her son's youth group and contributions may be made through the family.
