Mat-Su students were among a class of 28 students, ranging in age from 17 to mid-70s, at this year’s Lions Leadership Academy Feb. 15-18.
The Multiple District 49 Lions Clubs of Alaska, and its Canadian territory neighbors, second annual Leadership Academy included students representing Lions Clubs from Mat-Su, Anchorage, Juneau, Nome and greater Fairbanks.
The annual Leadership Academy introduces people to basic leadership skills in an effort to offer build leadership skills in leaders who will not only impact their profession, but also their community.
The weekend-long academy provided 30 hours of instruction from 22 local professionals from the University of Alaska Anchorage and the business community.
The class graduated Feb. 18 with Nancy Dahlstrom representing Gov. Sean Parnell as the keynote speaker.
