Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Lisa Eileen Tuer, 48, died July 8, 2004, at a friend's home in Anchorage.
Services were held at Kehl's Palmer Mortuary on July 14 at 11 a.m., with burial service following at Pioneer Cemetery. Pastor Dawson Lindbloom officiated. A reception followed the service at her daughter's home on the Old Glenn Highway.
Ms. Tuer was born Aug. 31, 1955, in Bremerton, Wash. Her family said, "She was very talented, artistic and studied many arts to perfection, such as drawing, flower arranging, gourmet cooking and painting."
She began her residence in Anchorage in 1962, at the age of 7.
Ms. Tuer traveled all over Alaska and stayed in many towns throughout her life. She loved Alaska very much and was always exploring. Her family said she was a "true Alaskan girl." She was a house painter and was trying to get into the union. She attended First Baptist Church of Willow.
Her family said, "Lisa was part eagle and part bear. Her loved ones knew her as Little Paw. She had an amazing spirit and a heart of gold. Lisa loved adventure and feared nothing. She was always deeply involved with friends and family and precious to everyone. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her."
Ms. Tuer is survived by her daughter, Desiree St. Clair, of Palmer; grandson, Tristan St. Clair, of Palmer; grandson, Dylan St. Clair, of Palmer; father, Roland Lemm, of Wasilla; sister, Tina Lemm of Washington; brother, Tim Lemm, of Wasilla; brother, Robin Lemm, of Wasilla; niece, Crystal Jones, of Anchorage; and niece, Danielle Uttech, of Wisconsin.
Memorial donations may be sent to HCO 2, Box 7750, Palmer, AK 99645. The family is gathering funds to have a totem pole carved for her headstone.
