Local man found dead in Eagle River

EAGLE RIVER — After being reported missing early Wednesday morning, Alaska State Troopers discovered 47-year-old Neil Guggenmos of Palmer deceased. Guggenmos has left home Tuesday evening and failed to return and his vehicle was found in the parking lot of the Nature Center in Eagle River. Alaska State Troopers, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Park Rangers, APD, and concerned friends and family members responded to the nature center to help with the search efforts. AST reached out to Alaska Incident Management Team, AMRG, Anchorage Nordic Ski Patrol and the Alaska Search Dogs and all volunteer agencies sent resources. At 9:08 p.m., on Wednesday, Guggenmos was discovered in the Nature preserve. No foul play is suspected.
