Lois Joan ‘Joann' Haynes

Chickaloon resident Lois Joan Haynes died July 17, 2006, at home of natural causes.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 23, at 3:30 p.m. at the Palmer Church of Nazarene, 1951 N. Hemmer Road, with Rev. Mickey Boyer officiating.

Mrs. Haynes ashes will be scattered over Ida Lake.

Mrs. Haynes was born Dec. 4, 1926 in Cambridge, Neb. She attended Northwest Nazarene College, in Nampa, Idaho, and the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Mrs. Haynes became an Alaska resident in 1953 and resided in Chickaloon. She also lived in Fairbanks, 1953-1964, Sitka, 1969-1974, Anchorage, 1974-1982, and Palmer until 1985.

Mrs. Haynes worked as a public accountant for numerous accounting jobs, most memorable such as Howard Kuhns Accounting Services, Chief Accountant, Fairbanks Public Schools, Booth Memorial Home, Head Bookkeeper for Mercy Hospital in Nampa, Idaho, and her favorite job - Harza Abasco Engineering.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, and served as district treasurer for Alaska Church of the Nazarene Missionary Society.

Mrs. Haynes received several distinguished service awards.

She was a great rollerskater, and was athletic. She loved and adored her schnauzers.

&#8220She loved to serve her family, church, community and friends,” he family wrote. &#8220She will be sorely missed by all

the lives she touched. Alaska has lost a true pioneer and blessing.”

Mrs. Haynes is survived by husband Al Haynes of Chickaloon; son and daughter-in-law Allyn and Ruth of Fairbanks; daughter and son-in-law Lynne Jo and Gordon Randall of Eagle River; sister Jackie Garrett of Arlington, Ore.; brothers John Foster and Larry Foster of Portland, Ore.; grandchildren Shannon and Reagan of Fairbanks, Jolene, David, Andrew, Josalyn of Eagle River;three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Palmer Church of the Nazarene.

Arrangements are with Kehl's Palmer Mortuary.

VALITA ‘LITA' EVE MAREK-SIEBERT

Valita (Lita) Eve Marek-Siebert, 48, died July 18, 2006, at Providence Alaska Medical Center In Anchorage. A memorial service was noon Saturday, July 22, 2006, at Valley Funeral Home, 151 E. Herning Ave., Wasilla. The Rev. Norman Wagner officiated at the service.

She was born July 2, 1958, at Lakeview Hospital in Rice Lake, Wis. She graduated from Chetek High School in Chetek, Wis., in 1976. She earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Wayland Baptist University in Anchorage. She was retired from the U.S. Army, where she was a staff sergeant JAG corps from 1976-1996. She moved to Wasilla in 1993.

She worked as a paralegal for the Army Corps of Engineers at Elmendorf Air Force Base, in the office of the staff judge advocate at Fort Richardson, and also for the Alaska Court System in Anchorage.

She received numerous medals and awards. Some of her hobbies and interests were her love for pets, flower gardening, fishing, and love of the outdoors.

Her family stated, &#8220Lita is the fabric of my soul and my love for her will last as long as I breathe. Lita is my best friend and life companion. Lita welcomed everyone she met into her family. Everyone who met Lita fell in love with her and felt blessed to be part of her family. She will be missed by the numerous members of her Alaska family. Lita will always be loved by her family. Until we meet again - Gone Fishing. Fish On.”

She is survived by her husband, Ed Siebert of Wasilla; mother, JoAnn Oldenberg of Neenah, Wis.; twin sister, Valeree Marek of Algonquin, Ill.; brother and sister-in-law, E. John and Stephanie Marek of Oshkosh, Wis.; mother-in-law, Mary Siebert of Wasilla; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Julie Siebert of Pollock Pines, Calif.; father, Edward J. Marek of Florida; nieces and nephews, Justine and Clinton Siebert of Pollock Pines, and Justin O., Jacob, Abbey, Riley, and Colton Marek of Oshkosh; aunt, Sharon Espeseth of Chetek; uncle Wilmer Oldenberg of Chetek; stepsons, Kenneth and James Siebert of Kansas; and devoted family friends, Taz, Moe, and McKenzie of Wasilla

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Martin and Regina Oldenberg, and Frances and Donald Campbell; sister-in-law, Rana Danley; and devoted family friend, Ciara.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Mat-Su Animal Shelter, 680 N. Seward Meridian Parkway, Wasilla, AK 99654, (907) 746-5500, Acct# 200-000-000-369-900. Arrangements were made with Valley Funeral Home and Crematory.

Johnny Nicanoff Kameroff

Johnny Nicanoff Kameroff died July 12, 2006, at home in Wasilla. He was 44.

Johnny was born Oct. 23, 1961 in Bethel. He also lived in Lower Kalskag until the age of 6, Haven Acres in Oregon for two years, Harborview Developmental Center in Valdez for 26 years, Bethel for eight years and Wasilla since 2003.

Johnny was disabled. He liked riding in cars, listening to music and playing with his toys.

His family said, &#8220Although we weren't raised with Johnny, we thought about him often. He will always be remembered by his family. We would like to thank the wonderful staff that cared for Johnny and helped him have a good quality of life despite his disabilities.”

Johnny is survived by his brothers Andrew and Willie and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by the dedicated staff of Hope Community resources in Wasilla.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Gregory Kameroff, grandparents Peter and Sarah Levi and sisters Rose and Lucy.

A celebration of life will be held July 27, 2006, at 2 p.m. Contact Hope Community Resources at 357-3750 for info.

Burial will be in Lower Kalskag.
