Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Former Birchwood resident, Lucille "Molly" Buswell, died Oct. 9, 2003, of complications due to kidney failure, at a hospital in Phoenix, Ariz., at the age of 73.
A graveside service will be held on June 11 at 2 p.m. at the Valley Memory Gardens in the Butte area. Anyone who knew her and will miss her is welcome to attend.
Molly Klem was born April 25, 1930, in Whitefish, Mont. She moved to Alaska in the late 1940s. She met and married her husband, A.C. Buswell Jr., while he was serving in the army at Fort Richardson. The couple then moved to Sioux City, Iowa, for 13 years. The couple moved back to Alaska in 1961 where they settled in Birchwood until 1989. The couple then moved out of state and retired to Phoenix until Molly's death in 2003.
Mrs. Buswell's hobbies included visiting with her grandchildren and cooking. She worked at Fort Richardson as a civilian computer programmer for 17 years in her time in Alaska.
She is preceded in death by her son, Robert Buswell, who died at the age of 12 in 1966.
She is survived by her husband, A.C. Buswell Jr., and two children, April Zelinka, who lives in Goodyear, Ariz., and A.C. Buswell III, who lives in Wasilla with his family. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Her family wrote, "The greatest joy in her life was her family, especially her grandchildren. She was always the most alive in the presence of family. She was loved and she will be missed."
