Lund back in action for GW

After helping lead his team to the NCAA national tournament last season, former Colony soccer standout and current George Washington goalkeeper Eric Lund is back in action.

Lund and the Colonels are in the middle of spring practices and participating in spring scrimmages.

Lund allowed only one goal during his action in the first half in GW's 6-0 loss to D.C. United earlier this month.

"GW's keeper (Lund) was marvelous in keeping the game close early," D.C. United head coach Ray Hudson told dcunited.com.

D.C. United is a professional soccer squad.

Lund also allowed just one goal in a 2-2 tie against Loyola University on April 13.

Lund will be a senior next season and is expected to be the starting keeper for the defending Atlantic 10 champions.

Lund was 11-2 during his junior season.
