Mackey takes Iditarod lead

Lance Mackey has taken the Iditarod Sled Dog Race lead.

Running at 5.2 miles per hour, he has overtaken Jeff King. And so has Hans Gatt with a blistering pace of 7.5 miles per hour at second place, about 10 miles behind Mackey.

King is only trailing Mackey by about 13 miles and two miles behind Gatt.

The top three have about 400 miles left to the finish line at Nome.
