I’m writing this letter to all of you who have a few free hours each week. The Bishop’s Attic is a fun place to volunteer and a good way to give back to your community. The store sells new and used items, which are donated by local people and organizations.
There is an amazing amount of work taking care of these donations. Everything goes through two or three sortings before being priced and put out on the floor for sale.
While we love our customers, the volunteers become a family. It is a great feeling in making new friends as new people join us as volunteers. There are a few paid employees, but for most of us, our “pay” is the satisfaction of knowing that we are helping to raise funds, which are given back to our community later in the year. What a great way to help others!
Please come in and talk to Ann, our manager, and find out what you can do as a volunteer — you’ll feel good and make new friends at the same time.
