WASILLA — A man was transported by air ambulance from downtown Wasilla this afternoon with a head injury, though at this time, no one is sure what happened to him.
Emergency services crews were called to respond to Boundary Street and Herning Avenue in Wasilla came in at 1:29 p.m., according to Clint Vardeman, Deputy Director of Emergency Services for the Mat-Su Borough. He said medics were on scene in four minutes.
“It says multiple calls stating vehicle versus pedestrian and/or subject being assaulted,” Vardeman said, reading from the dispatch logs.
Whatever put him in the state, the patient had a head laceration and was transported to Anchorage quickly. The helicopter landed on the pad at the nearby fire station 6-1 at Lucille Street and Swanson Avenue and by 2 p.m. it had already landed and gone.
