A Wasilla man was arrested and charged with three counts of harassment in the first degree, assault in the fourth degree and indecent exposure in the second degree, following the report of multiple women groped inside a Wasilla business Tuesday.
The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Raymond Genaro of Wasilla.
The Wasilla Police Department received a report about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday that a man, later identified as Genaro, “had groped multiple women inside of a store before running from the area on foot,” WPD officials said in a press release issued Wednesday.
A photograph of the suspect was given to police, and about 20 minutes later, WPD said there was a second report of a man groping women in a parking lot in the same area.
Officers located Genaro nearby.
During the investigation, police obtained video and witness statements which revealed that Genaro had inappropriately groped four women ranging from ages 19 to 71, WPD said.
Genaro also exposed himself to the women, police said, and rubbed himself on at least one victim.
Genaro is also on probation for a prior conviction of sexual assault in the second degree, police said, and had just been released on probation in November.
Gebaro has been remanded and held without bail.
