WASILLA -- Alaska State Troopers have arrested a 20-year-old Wasilla man in connection with the September burglary of a Houston residence.
Antwan Demolee was taken into custody Friday at 9:07 p.m. at his home on Pioneer Peak Drive when members of the Alaska Fugitive Task Force and the troopers served an arrest warrant. Demolee was remanded at Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on an outstanding parole violation warrant and charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, and two counts of second-degree theft, troopers said.
Bail for the new charges was set at $25,000 cash only and a court-approved, third-party custodian. Demolee was held without bail on the probation violation, according to troopers.
He allegedly was part of a burglary that occurred Sept. 17. A video camera in the residence, tripped by a motion sensor, captured images of suspects, troopers said.
Troopers arrested Edgar O. Sims III on Nov. 15 for his alleged part in the burglary. Sims, 21, of Wasilla, was charged with two counts of first-degree burglary and two counts of second-degree theft, and was lodged at MSPTF in lieu of $50,150 bail, troopers said.
At least one other suspect is still being sought in the case, authorities said. Like Demolee, Carl John "C.J." Nielsen, 21, has an outstanding arrest warrant for probation violation, troopers said. He is believed to be in the Anchorage area, they said, and anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to call Palmer troopers at 746-2131.
The investigation has been a cooperative effort between the troopers patrol, burglary suppression units, and the Alaska Bureau of Investigation.
