WASILLA — A man was found dead at a residence off Knik-Goose Bay Road late Christmas Eve in 2018. Wednesday, the Alaska State Troopers arrested a suspect in the case.
Mark Myers, of Wasilla, was arrested just before 5 p.m. on Wednesday by members of AST’s Criminal Suppression Unit, according to an online dispatch posted Wednesday evening. Myers, 23, has been charged with two counts of murder in the second degree and one count of manslaughter. The charges were returned by a Palmer Grand Jury March 22 and a warrant was issued Tuesday.
This comes about three months after Julian Myers, 51, of Wasilla, was found dead at about 9 p.m. Dec.24, 2018, at a residence off Outrigger Drive near Wasilla. In the original dispatch, AST said, “troopers responded to a residence for a report of shots fired during a disturbance.”
Troopers also reported during the initial investigation, “the person responsible has been identified and is cooperating with the investigation.”
Tim DeSpain conformed Wednesday night that Mark Myers is the son of Julian Myers.
