A single-vehicle rollover Christmas Eve near Sutton claimed the life of a 54-year-old man, according to Alaska State Troopers.

According to an online trooper dispatch, Sutton Fire Department and Mat-Su Borough EMT personnel responded to mile 70 of Glenn Highway around 2 a.m. According to reports, 20-year-old Jacob Kincaid was driving southbound in a 2005 GMC Yukon when the vehicle left the roadway. The vehicle became airborne and rolled multiple times.

The 54-year-old, who was not identified by troopers, was sleeping in the rear of the vehicle. Police say he was unrestrained and ejected from the Yukon. The vehicle landed on top of him, pinning him underneath. Police report the man was pronounced dead after he was extricated.
