PETERSVILLE — A man died after the van he was driving left on Petersville Road left the road and rolled, authorities said.
Emergency medical personnel and Alaska State Troopers responded to reports of an overturned vehicle about 12 p.m., April 4 where they discovered Thomas Tuthill Jr., 37, of Anchorage underneath his 2000 white Chevy Express van, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Investigators determined Tuthill had lost control of the vehicle on a sharp corner, struck some trees, and then rolled down an embankment.
When it became apparent that Tuthill had died, officials used a tow truck to remove the vehicle, according to Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters.
Tuthill was the van’s sole occupant, authorities said.
Troopers and the Alaska State Medical Examiner’s office are investigating.
