Man drags troopers, lands in jail

SUTTON — Troopers allege a drunken man on a four-wheeler dragged them briefly down a downtown Sutton road early Thursday morning.

According to a press release, troopers stopped the ATV at 12:15 a.m., on McPherson Avenue for driving in the road.

Troopers report that when they talked to the driver, later identified as Kyle Blakeman, 21, of Sutton, “He immediately accelerated the ATV, dragging two troopers down McPherson Ave. and causing minor injuries.”

Troopers tracked Blakeman to his home where they arrested him for drunken driving, assaulting a peace officer, refusing a chemical test and criminal mischief. He was jailed on $5,000 bail at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility. Jail records Thursday afternoon showed he was still in custody.
