WASLLA — Alaska State Troopers report that when they arrived to sort out a disturbance at R+R RV Park at Mile 49, Parks Highway, the person they most needed to talk to happened to be sitting in a stolen SUV.
According to an AST press statement, the disturbance was reported at 1:04 a.m., Sunday.
Ricky Cunningham, 45, of Wasilla, had allegedly “entered the property of another with the intent to commit a crime,” according to the report, which is one of the legal definitions of trespassing. So he was charged with that.
“Further investigation revealed on 2/16/13 a white 1997 Chevy Tahoe was reported stolen from a church on E. Bogard Road.,” according to the report.
That was the same Chevy Tahoe Cunningham had apparently driven to the RV Park, so he was also charged with vehicle theft.
Cunningham was jailed at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $3,000 bail. Monday afternoon he was still there.
