Man found shot in home, Houston police investigate

MAT-SU — Houston police are investigating a shooting at Mile 53 Parks Highway.

According to a Houston police press statement, officer Jason Holmgren, two Wasilla Police officers and a Wasilla investigator showed up to the home at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and found the man who lived there had been shot.

Police were unsure Tuesday morning of the extent of the man’s injuries. He was taken to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center, the report says.

“We hope he makes it,” Houston Police Capt. John Rhyshek said.

Rhyshek said Tuesday morning that he couldn’t yet release the man’s name. Police are working to find out who shot the man and why, Rhyshek said.
