An Alaska State Trooper conducts an accident investigation on Tait Drive Saturday afternoon for a collision that involved a four-door sedan and a Kawasaki all-terrain-vehicle.

The driver of the ATV was flown by LifeMed to the hospital with serious head lacerations. The female driver of the sedan was not injured. She submited to a blood test as a standard procedure.

According to troopers on scene, the ATV and the vehicle were traveling south on Tait Drive with the ATV in front of the car.

At some point, the ATV crossed in front of the passing car, causing the vehicle to drive over the ATV. The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from his ATV and onto the pavement. The car and ATV ended up in the ditch.
