Man on probation for 2005 manslaughter arrested again

WASILLA — Alaska State Troopers allege that a man convicted of manslaughter in 2005 wasn’t behaving himself while on probation and was arrested Friday.

Claude Hale, 33, of Wasilla, was wanted on three warrants by the time troopers finally arrested him at a house on Green Forest drive at 4:50 a.m., Feb. 1. One warrant was for violating probation on the manslaughter charge, another for violating the conditions of his release on that charge. The third was for failure to appear in court on driving on revoked license and violating release conditions charges.

Hale was one of seven people arrested and charged in connection with the death of Jeremiah Butler 2005. Prosecutors allege that Hale pulled the trigger on the gun that shot and killed Butler.

After his Friday arrest, Hale was jailed at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $5,000 bail. Jail records Monday morning showed he was still incarcerated.

Two other people were arrested at the same house as Hale on Friday. Danielle Michaud, 32, of Wasilla, was charged with hindering troopers in their prosecution of Hale. Her bail was set at $500.

Brandon Hale, 20, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a driving on a revoked license charge. His bail was set at $100. Jail records Monday showed Michaud and Brandon Hale had posted bail and been released.
