MAT-SU — A 29-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen Saturday evening and rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to a press release from Alaska State Troopers, the stabbing was reported at 6:55 p.m. at an apartment complex on Creekwood Park Circle.
“He had life-threatening injuries, but it looks like he will survive. It is under investigation,” AST spokeswoman Megan Peters said of the stabbing.
Troopers did not release the identities of the man or the person alleged to have stabbed him.
“A 27-year-old Palmer resident was identified as involved in the altercation and was interviewed on scene. The investigation is ongoing, and at this time troopers are not seeking any additional suspects,” according to the press statement.
Peters said troopers are investigating to determine whether to file charges in the case. She said as of Monday afternoon that the trooper working the case was off duty and she could provide no further information.
Creekwood Park Circle runs from the Palmer-Wasilla Highway to a collection of apartment complexes behind the former Matanuska Creamery building near Stringfield Road.
