TRAPPER CREEK — A Wasilla man thrown from his car as it rolled died Tuesday near the Parks Highway.
According to a trooper press statement, the rollover was reported at 5:29 p.m. near Mile 109 just outside of Trapper Creek.
Joseph E. Carroll, 31, Wasilla, was the only occupant of the 2001 Kia sedan, which left the road and rolled multiple times. He was not wearing his seatbelt, troopers say, and he was thrown from the car.
Passersby tried to help, attempting CPR on Carroll, but he died on scene.
Troopers say speeding and alcohol may have played a role in the crash.
