WASILLA — Alaska State Troopers gave a chilly reception to a man who crashed his SUV into an outdoor cooler for storing bags of ice when they found he was driving with a suspended license.
According to a trooper press statement, the call to respond to the Fishhook Foodmart at the corner of Wasilla-Fishhook and Seldon roads came in at 8:05 a.m., Wednesday.
Troopers say Dustin T. Hettrick, 24, was driving his 1999 Chevy Suburban in the parking lot when he slammed on his brakes and slid into the cooler.
No one was hurt.
Troopers gave Hettrick him a summons to appear in court for the suspended license and a ticket for not having proof of insurance and sent him on his way.
Damage to the cooler is estimated at $4,000. Damage to the Suburban was estimated at $200.
