June 6 is the 75th anniversary of D-Day. What is the most profound moment in history that sticks out in your mind?
“The moon landing. Once you landed on the moon, that did change things. It’s showing we can do things with science, not just destruction.”
Jeff Garcia, Wasilla
“Probably 9/11. That’s kind of one of the only big events that happened in my lifetime and I was young at that point. I don’t actuality remember it but I remember hearing stories. I went to see the 9/11 Memorial while it was being built so that was kind of cool.”
Madison Reem, Palmer
“I would have to say Battle of the Bulge. My grandpa served through WWII, going through the winter of Germany battling against Hitler’s regime. It was absolutely an incredible feat. To think of what those guys went through is absolutely incredible.”
Austin Wentzel
“My parents were married that day. Not D-Day but June 6th is their anniversary and I always think it’s funny. It’s D Day, in more ways than one.”
Renee Rindone, Palmer
