Would you favor a state income tax? Why or why not?

“I think there should be. As a college student, all the budget cuts are concerning. I feel like if we implemented a small income tax, we would be able to replenish our education resources,”

Riley Sheldon, Wasilla

“No. Because they have already spent their part in the government. They’re going to come and try to steal our money. They need to make some deep cuts,”

Loy Thurman, Wasilla

“No. I would more in favor of a state sales tax but not an income tax. That would be a huge, horrible hit to the economy. I’d rather give up my dividend check than see that, but I don’t want to give up my dividend check,”

John Stewart, Wasilla

“No. Because we need to cut the budget before we tax people,”

Pat Purcell, Cottonwood Shores
