Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Margaret M. Rehard, 80, of 1715 Mechanicsburg Road, Ohio, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at West View Manor Nursing Home Wooster, Ohio. She was born May 31, 1922, in Newcomerstown, to the late Hazel
(Warren) and Ernest Miller.
A 1940 graduate of West Lafayette High School, she earned her business degree from Ohio Institute of Business. She served in the WAVE Navy during World War II,
retired from Alaska State Troopers and formerly worked for Columbia Gas at Wooster. Also while in Alaska, she and her late husband owned and operated a recreational business for 10 years.
Mrs. Rehard was also a member of Jewel Lake Church of the Nazarene in Anchorage, the Fraternal
Order of Alaska State Troopers and American Legion Susitna Valley Post 35 Wasilla.
On May 27, 1944, she married Arthur E. Rehard. He preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1993. Survivors include two sons, Thomas E. "Bear" Rehard of Wasilla, Theodore E. (Marcie) Rehard of Wooster; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and sister, Eunice (Howard) Hostetler of Newcomerstown.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, E. Glenn Miller and Karl D. Miller.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at Orange United Methodist Church. Burial was at Bakersville Cemetery in Bakersville. Military honors were conducted.
