Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

87 years, passed away at home in Palmer, Alaska on January 12, 2019.
Peggy was born on October 20, 1931 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, daughter to Margaret D. and Ronald G. Tiegel. She moved to Alaska in 1974.
Peggy loved swimming and spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. She never met a person she didn’t like and always had a smile on her face. She outshined June Cleaver in taking care of her family. When her husband, John, telecommunications career called for one of their many cross-country moves, Peggy packed up the kids and household, and got them settled at the next stop on their life’s adventure. She never missed a spelling bee, horse show or Halloween carnival that her children or grandchildren participated in and was loved by all who met her. To those who knew and loved Peggy, she will be sorely missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband John Edmund Beasley. Survived by her daughters, Judy (Frances) Beasley and Denise (Dean) Mackey; son, John R. Beasley; granddaughters, Meghan (Rob) Renuart, Bridgett (Jon) Dyson and Sarah (Brandon) Lloyd; grandson, Christopher (Makayla) Beasley; great-granddaughters, Peyton Dyson, Piper Dyson and Ella Lloyd.
A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at “Peggy’s Home”, 10021 Ortner Loop, Palmer. Please stop by to share a fond memory! Peggy and her husband, John, will be interned together at Fort Richardson National Cemetery.
