Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Marian "Marty" L. Warren, 67, died of heart failure July 28, 2003, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Aug. 10, at 1 p.m. at the Birchwood Saloon (formerly known as Pilots Grill), North Birchwood exit. Please call 376-6904 for further information.
Her ashes will be scattered at Susitna Lake at a later date.
Ms. Warren was born Oct. 27, 1935, in Urbana, Ill.
She was a high school graduate and had attended computer school.
Ms. Warren became a resident of Alaska in 1967 and lived in Juneau. She lived in various localities throughout Alaska including Kodiak, Anchorage, Peters Creek, Chugiak, North Birchwood and Seward.
Ms. Warren worked for the Alaska State Court System until her retirement in 1996.
She enjoyed her computer and her Internet friends. She enjoyed selling on E-bay and sending e-mail jokes to everyone. She loved her dogs and cats.
Her family wrote, "Marty adored her family and friends and would open her home and heart to anybody who needed help. Marty adored living in her little cabin with her pets."
Ms. Warren is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and David Trowbridge of Stanwood, Wash.; son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Faye Warren of Wasilla; grandchildren, David Trowbridge, Jr. of Washington, Stephan and Ryan Fidler of Idaho; step-grandchildren, Rena and Tomy of Wasilla; sisters, Shirley Morris and Francis Clark of Oregon and Beverly Anderson of California; her best friend, Barbara Cutler of Wasilla; numerous nieces and nephews, and all of her many friends in Wasilla.
Her youngest child, Timothy Fidler, preceded Ms. Warren in death.
