Mary Leona Brewster, 71, died of natural causes at her home in Wasilla on Feb. 17, 2006. Her family will have a private service and scatter her ashes in Hatchers Pass, along with her husband's.
Ms. Brewster was born Sept. 7, 1934 in Harlem, Mont., and was a graduate of Harlem High School in Harlem. She moved to Alaska in 1968, and lived in Kenai, Anchorage, Birchwood and Wasilla. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing cards, gardening and shopping.
Ms. Brewster is survived by her son, George Allen Brewster of Soldotna; one grandson, Jack Allen Brewster of Kenai; one granddaughter, Crystal Leigh Howell of Wasilla, and one great-granddaughter, Sonja Jade Howell of Wasilla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Ray Brewster, and by her parents, George Leo Fitzsimmons and Ester Elizabeth Fitzsimmons.
Arrangements were with Valley Funeral Home & Crematory in Wasilla.
