Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Longtime Alaska resident Mary Lou Briggs, 69, died Aug. 13, 2004, at her home in Fort Mohave, Ariz.
Mrs. Briggs was born to Alton and Jessie Loomis in Painesville, Ohio, on May 10, 1935. She married Kenneth Dale Briggs on July 26, 1952, and in 1965 they moved to Big Lake to homestead and raise their family.
Mrs. Briggs worked for many years before retiring from the Matanuska Telephone Association in 1987.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Susan Jane Briggs.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Kenneth D. Briggs; son and daughter-in-law, William and Nancy Briggs of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Gil Lee of Wasilla and Shirley and Michael Bryan of Anchorage.
At Mrs. Briggs' request, there will be no funeral or memorial services.
