Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Mary Louise Engelmann died recently in Oregon. No formal services will be held.
She was born in St. Paul, Minn., to Louise and Alvilda Clifton. She moved to Alaska in 1956 with her husband, George, and their family.
In 1957, she homesteaded in Wasilla. In 1973, Mrs. Engelmann moved to Oregon, where she lived close to her mother and most of her other family members in Salem.
Her loved ones wrote, "Mary's memory will dearly be held by many, as she rests in God's love and peace."
She is survived by her sons, George and Jim of Salem; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; brothers, Alvin and Johnny; daughter, Sandra Smith; son, Dennis, and granddaughter, Jady Jo Smith.
Mrs. Engelmann also left behind many beloved friends and several who thought of her as mom.
