PALMER – The official count is in and the result has flipped for the bond proposition that city voters were asked to approve in Tuesday's election.
The city of Palmer counted absentee early and questioned ballots this week. Those ballots added 73 votes to the “yes” column and 43 votes in the “no” column.
Which was enough to put the bonds over the top. The new total is 421 yes to 415 no.
The city will sell $3 million in bonds to buy the old Matanuska Maid property in the city's downtown.
