Mat-Su Borough Assemblyman Mark Ewing has announced his candidacy for lieutenant governor.
In an interview with KTUU television aired late Monday evening, Ewing said he is running for the state’s No. 2 executive post. He’ll face off against Republican challengers Eddie Burke, a former radio talk show host, and state Rep. Jay Ramras of Fairbanks in the August primary for a spot on the general election ballot.
A former Wasilla city councilman, Ewing ran unopposed for the District 4 seat on the assembly in 2008. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
