The Mat-Su Borough Agriculture Forum is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Nov. 10 (with a lunch break from noon to 1:30 p.m.) in the Mat-Su Borough Assembly Chambers, 350 E. Dahlia Ave. Palmer.
You are invited to be part of a discussion regarding the unique approaches in which borough-owned agriculture lands are managed and how we find the middle ground for future management of these lands.
Morning Session — 9 a.m. to noon
• History of different Titles in code and inherent differences in management of agriculture lands
• Unique issues with each approach under the different titles of administrative codes
• How the state handles their agriculture lands
• Brainstorm how the borough can address/change current policy/code to find a middle ground
Afternoon Session — 1:30 to 5 p.m.
• Guiding new policy and recommendations affecting management of agriculture land and future sale of those lands, including policy on: subdividing, fee simple home sites, parcel size, and development rights
• Mat-Su Borough Agricultural Commission: defining its role
